refuge accommodation

The refuge service provides safe, emergency, temporary accommodation to women and their children experiencing domestic abuse.

We provide:

  • 24-hour direct access to temporary accommodation

  • Telephone advice line between 9.30 am and 5.00pm

  • Advocacy on behalf of women and their children

  • Assistance and advice on benefits, legal issues, housing etc

  • Assistance with re-settlement from refuge accommodation

  • Emotional support for women and their children

  • Group work and activities.Newcastle Women’s Aid is affiliated to WAFE (Women's Aid Federation of England). We receive and make referrals nationally.
