safety planning

.... in an emergency dial 999 or just get out!

If you have the opportunity to plan you should aim to take with you:

  • Change for phone calls, taxis, buses or trains

  • Emergency phone numbers

  • Essential legal documents such as:

    • Benefit books

    • Medical cards

    • Bank books

    • Chequebooks

    • Rent book

    • Marriage and birth certificates

    • Passports

    • Injunctions or court orders

    • Driving licence

    • Divorce papers

  • Spare house keys

  • Any medication for yourself and your children

  • Children's favourite possessions

Put essential items in an 'emergency bag' and leave with a trusted friend.

Leave when your abuser is not around

If none of this is possible we can help retrieve these items once you have reached safe refuge accommodation.
