Newcastle Women’s Aid is today celebrating after being awarded £333,000 in National Lottery funding to support our work with women and girls affected by domestic violence and abuse.

We are delighted that The National Lottery Community Fund has recognized our work in this way, we will be able to work to help more women and girls, stay safe and survive domestic abuse and gain an understanding about the risks and Impacts of all forms of domestic abuse. The need for our specialist services has never been more important, as we emerge from lockdown and Womens safety is being highlighted in our communities.

We will use the award to provide a specialist package of flexible support interventions for victims and survivors over the next 5 years.

We will be launching, The HOPE Project (Help – Options – Protection – Empowerment).

HOPE will offer, immediate, ongoing and lasting support to female victims and survivors of domestic abuse. The HOPE project aims to equip women and girls with the tools to help them maintain and sustain safety, live independently, feel empowered, reduce and prevent further re -victimization and make longer lasting meaningful changes to their lives.
